Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning:
    – Develop and implement production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
    – Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely execution of production plans.
    – Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address any delays or issues.
  • Inventory Control:
    – Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    – Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
    – Implement and manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    – Liaise with procurement, sales, and logistics departments to ensure seamless flow of materials and products.
    – Communicate production status and potential issues to relevant stakeholders.
    – Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure products meet quality standards.
    – Maintain strong communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
    – Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, resolve supply issues, and build long-term relationships.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    – Analyze production data and inventory metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    – Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics – Utilize software tools to enhance production planning and inventory management processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    – Identify opportunities for process improvements in production planning and inventory control.
    – Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    – Participate in cross-functional teams to drive process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, inventory control, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management principles, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
