Patient FAQ
Can I bathe, shower or swim?
Yes. Wash the limb with water while you bathe — soap is fine. Pools, bathtubs and warm water are all fine. Avoid strenuous activity in the water while the fracture heals.
Will it hurt when it is put on?
No. The immobilizer goes on soft and is zipped closed. The RizyCure light that hardens it is 100% UV-free. Do not touch the outer surface while it is curing — it can feel hot.
How is it taken off?
Your doctor cuts it away with ordinary orthopaedic pliers. There is no cast saw — nothing spins, nothing gets hot, and there is no risk of a saw cut.
Is it safe for my child?
It is applied by a healthcare professional. For children the zip-puller is cut off so your child cannot open it without help.
Will my fracture heal faster?
No. Bone heals in its own time. FlexiOH makes those weeks cleaner and more comfortable, not shorter.
My skin looks darker under it. Is that a problem?
A temporary tanning mark can appear. It fades within a few days.
Where can I get FlexiOH?
Only from a hospital or clinic that stocks it. Ask your orthopaedic surgeon, or contact us and we will point you to a clinic or distributor in your area.
